So, I'm in the gym today...the way I normally am on Monday morning. And the radio is on, as it usually is. I don't typically pay much attention to the radio; it is just background noise, a little company since I'm normally in the gym alone. Not a lot of people willing to be up at 5 AM to work out. Weird, I know. So anyway, a commercial comes on

I'm just so damn tired of people whining about how hard they've worked when I know full fucking well they haven't actually done anything. :-)

I've lost 70 lbs since May 2009. And I did it completely on my own. No pills, drinks, doctors, nutritionists, etc. For half of it, I did have a gym membership. But I dropped that due to costs and found my own way of just walking outside and such.
It can be done without any aids.
I will say that drinks are helping an aunt lose some weight. She has physical ailments that prevent her from getting a true exercise, so they are aiding in what little exercise she can do. But for people that have no physical ailment to keep them from moving around, yeah... it can be done without the aid. They just have to WANT to do it.
My ultimate goal is 130 lbs. I'm currently around 145-148. But I'm not pushing myself to get there. Of course the "medical" recommendation for my height is like 110 or below and I just laugh at that and say 'never in a million years would I want to be that thin.' I'm size 10-12 right now. So I'll likely end up in the 8-10 range, which will perfectly perfect for me. :-)

I tip the scale at 155lbs. So I'm not twiggy. But I consider myself healthy. I work out three days a week, and try to walk at lunch time when the weather is good. I made a point of including more vegetables in my diet and trying to eat less junk.
It is little changes and sticking with it that make the biggest difference. Not some damn diet pill. Sigh.
I just wish more people got that.
