Thank you for not smoking

Sep 04, 2008 10:48

[ Anbumani Ramadoss ] has asserted that, from October 2, the [ only places a smoker can smoke ] are their homes and the roads. The latter would soon be outlawed, too, I guess. This announcement is the latest in a series of anti-smoking measures adopted by the Indian Minister for Health ( Read more... )

If a person really wants to smoke, he can come on the road and smoke...so not sure it will work at least in Mumbai as the office campuses here are very small and roads easily accessible.

Good to see you shift to [another company]. Btw, why do you mention your earlier salary provider as just [company] when you had posted its logo in its full glory the day you got placed. Regular followers know what it is and new one just have to browse back to Feb-March 2005 archives to know.

Oh, things in Bangalore are different. It is, in most cases, at least a 500m hike to the main gate for most IT companies.

About [earlier company], well, access to that post has been limited to 'friends only'. As has the one post in between that refers to [earlier company] in the comments section.

Ah. I see.

I guess it will boil down to each organisation enforcing these laws. And I see your point: what's to stop people from flouting it.

Still, it's a noble thought - what Dr. Ramadoss has in mind.

Are you trying to say you are gonna quit (again)?
And do you think Dr Anbumani Ramadoss actually thought so much about the whole thing!!! :)

Btw I have quit yet again, successful fourth week is on

And what is this [another company]? I will catch up with you sometime on GTalk

Have never really tried to quit before. Am not saying I am going to quit. But Dr. Ramadoss has paved the way towards quitting. Maybe his intentions leant a wee bit towards the dangers of passive smoking -- but the overall effect still stands.

Oh, all the "quit" talk, I hope, was related to cigarettes and not employers! Have a safe trip on the wagon.

Good for you!
For both the quitting plan, and being able to get rid of the feeling of'dissatisfaction' at work :)
At some point, when I noticed I was complaining quite a bit about the work and work place on the blog, I did a LJ search of the company's name, and replaced it all with 'the company'... some searches still show up the cached results though!

Haven't thought of quitting yet... Am waiting for the consumption to fall naturally and then maybe I'll think of quitting.

I had tagged all my posts about [earlier company] as work -- and all the posts tagged [work] have been made 'friends only'. Am not sure how one would get around cached pages, but I don't think that people the world over are desperately seeking the identity of [earlier company].
