...trying to pull off one motherlode of an [
April Fools hoax ].
Well, first, one gets the idea.
This twins idea hit me sometime in November -- have been planning for the photographs ever since.
Looks like I planned and I planned and I planned for the photos; but I forgot to brush up on the story. Bad mistake.
Anyways,
here's how I did the photographs
I placed the camera on a stationary object at point A.
I sat dressed as "Karan" in different poses at point B.
A quick change of clothes later, I sat as "Arun" in different positions at point C. (Of course, Points B and C were within the frame of the camera.)
And then I just stitched the two snaps together. Simple as that.
The first two snaps I'd taken were these:
This would have made the best photograph had I been able to stitch the two above properly.
However, given the way the shadows were cast, the stitching was something beyond my capacity with MSPaint, as can be seen below.
Yes, both the twins having the same dirty right foot was a dead giveaway.
Then Bhai suggested taking a snap with the sun behind the camera. That was a good suggestion, as the photographs below indicate.
A quick stitch later, the twins were born on (digital) film...
The story was cooked up in the wee hours of April 1, 2006. Booze + Sleepiness do not make for a good creative concoction.
And where did I find the time to stitch the above photographs together? Well, four hours with nothing to do at the Mumbai Airport makes for some nifty MSPaint play!
