What a funny thing to imagine, all the LARP people cooing over your sweet Alexandra! <3 I'm glad Alexandra made such an impression on them.
So in Sweden, it's seen as a bad thing to bottlefeed? :( I'm glad Alexandra will now know of any of the drama and questions! She just eats and sleeps and poops happily! :-)
Indeed they were. :-D It was awesome to see, it really was! Most of them are quite a lot younger then us. One of them is a dad (he became a dad really young, but is a proud one), but the rest of them haven't even thought about kids, I think. So to actually see a kid born to one of their friends I think is a bit of a shock to them. :-) Was a lot of fun though!
Bottlefeeding a bad thing in Sweden? Yes and no. There is a bit of a breastfeeding hysteria when talking with some people, especially nurses that work with babies and moms. I felt really pushed that I HAD to do it, even if I had no milk when I was at the neonatal unit at the hospital (when Alexandra was sick). And some people, has the view that REAL women and mothers breastfeed their babies, those bottlefeeding are failures as women and mothers. :-P Less and less of that view though, but it does still exist and you never know when you'll run into it. I've read some real horror-stories on various forums and communities online lately. :-/
Alexandra is going to have the whole world wrapped around her little finger soon! ;D No wonder, such a sweetheart! We'll all be doing her bidding!
I'm so glad that you're enjoying the FQF fics. Thanks for spreading the word! There are still many more awesome ones to go! It's really exciting to see people enjoying them, especially when the prompter loves it! <3
There is a certain risk, that yes... She will. :-) *lol* Watch out. She'll take over the world soon! (To be honest, nerds DO rule the world, so she can just join in... X-D )
I do so enjoy them, yes! Not all them twincest fics, but most of them are good. :-D
I think that if anyone has the nerve to say something to you about bottle feeding Alexandra, you look them dead in the eye and say one of 2 things - either preface an explanation with "Not that it's any business of yours..." OR my particular choice "I'm sorry, how is this your business?"
I totally know how your LARPing friends feel. I will never forget one of my friends plopping her baby in my arms and all I could think was "WHY WOULD YOU TRUST ME WITH YOUR CHILD? HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN HOW CLUMSY I AM?" (in all caps too)
Yes, indeed. Considering I do feel so much better about the whole thing now, and so much more like myself... I'll have NO problem bringing the smackdown if anyone goes being snotty with me... :-P
X-D I think that was what my friends thought to that didn't dare hold her. They looked quite terrified at the thought alone!
love it. so glad she met your LARP friends; they were so excited to meet her!
guys and changing diapers. that's hilarious. and i'm glad they were supportive of the bottle- as i knew they would be. your larp friends are awesome, understanding AND non-judgmental. comes with the territory, i think!
Yeah, we really had a blast visiting the LARP. :-) Was so fun. Of course, we had to bring a ton of stuff for Alexandra, but that is life now with a little one, isn't it? *grin* I'll get used to it, I am sure.
And yeah, it was so fun to see my friends with her, even if them boys were quite hilerious! X-D
Glad you and Alexandra are doing great! Speaking as someone who does not have kids yet, I am older and have lots of family and friends with children but I still find it awkward holding other people's babies, mostly because I don't know what to DO with them and they usually start crying or squirming, wanting to go back to mom! XD Just don't make people hold her if they don't want to. It really is horribly awkward for the other person. You can ask, but if they say no, don't force the issue. I have had people do that to me, just thrust the kid into my arms even when I decline and I hate it!! I mean, yeah, their baby is cute and I like it but I don't necessarily want to cuddle with it, because it's not MY baby and I don't have maternal feelings for it. Does that make sense? :P
But it seems Alexandra has no shortage of willing cuddlers!! :)
It does make sense. :-) And hey, I am not forcing anyone, of course! That would be rude. I might ask why and tell them it is fine. I trust them, really. :-) I do. Especially with Alexandra who has proven to be a very calm baby, easy to hold on to. :-) So I might ask, they say no, I say aww... come on.. they say no again, and that is it. :-) There is usually a lot of others that do want to. ;-) So you are right there! There are plenty people who DO want to cuddle her! :-D
