Malmö and Les Miserables!

Jan 09, 2012 00:23

I should go to bed since I got work tomorrow... But I just had to update with this little... travel-report? Musical-report? Whatever you wanna call it. :-)

Had to get up quite early yesterday morning, but hey... it was cool. :-) Took a shower and then got some food in me before peting73 drove me and spicehobbit to the train station.

The WHOLE trip under here, including my thoughts on the swedish version of Les Miserables!!! :-D )

theatre, les miserables, life, music, friends, vacation

So glad you had such a good time. I completely agree with your interpretation of the story. Valjean is very good, but he IS good because he stole those candlesticks from the priest: can't forget that. He was able to turn a new leaf but he never forgets who he was: nor, I think, would he even want to. And Javert? Can't help but hate him because you love Valjean so much. But he's only doing...his job.. in the end, of course, doing it obsessively.

Great show. So jealous!! I'm glad you had good food, too, that always helps!

Indeed! :-D I think that is what makes Les Miserables so good. That it IS such a grey mess. Makes the story much more interesting. :-)

Did you read the interview with Dan Ekborg and Fred Johanson? It is a very good interview and I agree with much what they say there, actually. I was so surprised to find such an interesting interview in a musical programme... Usually they are just filled with pretty photos (was plenty of those to, of course), and not that much text. But this one was. :-) So that was definitely a nice surprise.

Personally my favourite character in the story has always been Javert. (And the little kid Gavroch). Closely followed by the Thénardiers, since they are just such AWESOME slimy bad guys! :-D

It sounds like you had the greatest time! I love trips like these and it was way too long since I had one. That's why sharing yours was so lovely.

Oh yes! I really did! I don't do trips like this very often, and when I do I always do them with spicehobbit. Hubby, peting73 doesn't like theatre or musicals, so... *shrug* I am not as much of a musical freak as spicehobbit, but I still enjoy it now and then. :-) I really had a huge blast! :-D
