Those cakes look lovely! Almost tempted to have a go except I've given up bothering with American recipes because it's such hassle (I don't understand what they have against kitchen scales...).

If you got a good online conversion site, it is not that much of a hassle, trust me. ;-) We're metric here in Sweden, so I had to convert the recipe to. :-) Worked alright, so yeah. It is worth it, trust me. I use this site when converting stuff: Oline Conversion. It is BRILLIANT! :-)

Trouble is you have to use the converter for every ingredient since mass & weight are 2 different things, so it's not merely a case of working out a formula to apply. And that's before you get to their habit of giving measurements in 'packets' & 'sticks' (what kind of weirdos buy butter in stick form?) without saying how big those thing are, & using branded names for so much stuff.

I've gotten so sick of having to google & convert every ingredient it's got to the point where the moment I see the word 'cups' in the measurements I just hit the back button & make a mental note to look for the recipe done properly when I have a spare moment.

Oh, I didn't do it that seriously. :-) I just converted cups to deciliter. Then I converted tbsp to, well, tbsp and tsps to... well, tsps. :-) Thats the only thing I did. I didn't give a crap about if it is a runny ingredient or not. And sticks? Didn't give a crap about that either, but used the tbsps measurement instead. :-) The cupcakes? Perfect. :-D I never over-think it when I convert recipes, but do it as easily as possible. I have never failed. ;-)

Well, eating the photos might not be that tasty... *smirk* ;-D

I hope he'll win to. :-) He loves taking photos, although he don't have that much time since he is working evenings nowadays. :-P
