I saw fanart for a minor het ship that I love, and it made me flail just for existing, and I was clapping and reading the artist's notes and all giddy until I get to the last wee note: "A vote against slash
( Read more... )
I really don't care for people who are like "My ship is the best."
I have my favorites, I have the ones I don't care for and then there everything else that I read. I'm a very opened minded shipper so I can't really say one is better then the other. ^_^ I like what I write but I'm always open to doing something different. ^_^
Slash, Het, or fem-slash ^_^ It's all good cause its all love ^___^
I just can't stand seeing any genre bashed, it's almost as annoying as outright "ew, no" over specific ships. *sigh* Okay, I do occasionally go off on snark about DG/Cain but that's usually prefaced with an "IMHO" ( with sparkle text! ^_^)and an apology tacked on for folks on the flist who do swing that way.
It really comes down to context. Keep it to your meta posts and out of your headers and author's notes and it'll be okay.
That Icon is just priceless, I've always have loved it!!!!! ^_____^
Oh and yeah, agree with you 100% I may not like the Cain/Glitch (and I'm sure you do) but I'm never like "ewwww go away" In fact I have a Cain/Glitch MV I made so yeah.
You know, comments like 'vote against X genre' or 'is there any other pairing?' make me actually want to go read exactly what the person is petitioning against. Call me contrary.
Also: I really, really dislike the '(is there anything else? tehee)' thing. That's not just advocating a particular genre/ship, that's completely denying the existence of particular genre/ship. I don't like being snubbed into non-existence.
AlsoAlso: Despite all this, I have the urge to see this fanart you speak of. Link?
SAME BRAIN. One gigantic brain that happens to be in two different heads. This is why we will take over the world.
*stares at art*
You know, you're right. If you ignore the artist note, don't really pay attention to the execution, and just concentrate on the warm fuzzies it provokes... Quite lovely. That is one of my favorite minor ships.
... aaaand now I'm pondering whether Glitch was taller than the Queen in the mini. Which doesn't really matter because I'm finding the concept oddly hawt and will probably make it my personal canon.
Clearly he was not. But I am willing to ignore that in favor of warm fuzzies because... it is my real and true and genuine OTP this week and I will take my warm fuzzies where I can get them.

ALSO: think you might be able to rec next week at the Gale? :D

If I were really clever, I'd figure out the binary for "word" and make it the zip code of Wordville.
...
I would LOVE to rec next week! Does the week start Sunday or another day? Is there a genre that needs extra lovin'?

And since you asked and I feel like inflicting public quasi-scorn: here. Content wins over execution and both win over artist-note toolery.
