Lovely. Sitting on a porch during the blue hour leads me to feel reflective too.

I'm so glad you had a positive relationship with your mother in law. You are correct that many are not so lucky.

My own situation has been...complicated. But, it's taught me something important. That when my own son is lucky enough to find a life partner, I want to be the supportive, loving, but not TOO involved MIL I never had!
