I apologize for flooding your inbox with comments, but the paragraph you wrote about school struck a chord with me. I was one of those bright kids that love learning, but hate schooling. I remember many a time where my mother would ask me what I learned in school, and I would reply with a "Nothing!" and an eye roll. Then I hit puberty, which magnified all my emotions tenfold and made my middle school experience wholly unpleasant. Things got slightly better in high school, with all the honors classes, nifty electives, and such (drama club is a great way to develop a rebellious streak), but I had some other issues in my life (which I won't go into here, lest this comment transform into a journal entry of its own) and ended up dropping out.

I don't really know where I was going with all of that, other than to say that I've been there. So... thanks for reading!

P.S: May I ask what your major is/what you plan it to be?

I love to learn too, and have rather strong feelings against schooling. I saw in your interests list that you're interested in autodidactism--awesome. :)

Thanks for the comment; it's good to know someone else has had similar experiences!

And about my major... well... I dunno. Haha. When I started college, I was doing television production (the behind-the-scenes studio stuff), and I enjoyed that, but left after my first year due to stupid insecurities and whatever related to my disability. After that I switched to "Liberal Arts - General Studies," which was basically just a program designed to help people in the NYstate university network complete their gen ed requirements (I was at a community college) that are necessary for any bachelor's degree. That was basically High School: The Sequel with the addition of dorms, ashtrays, and alcohol, and I got bored with that and flunked out after fumbling for about three semesters. Now, I'm not sure what I want to do. I've got a few ideas, though. :)
