I love that song. And the story idea is really cute- preacher-man!Uther is an interesting idea, and I'm generally a fan of young!Arthur and young!Merlin crushing on each other. The scene you set for it worked really well (it actually sounds a lot like the town I grew up in).

I do want to encourage you to see about working with a beta reader to help you clean up some of the grammer and spelling. There are some misplaced apostrophies ("shoulder's" and "gay's" for example) and spelling/word errors ("common" where it should be "come on" and a couple of your/you're mix-ups). Nothing too horrifying, but it's something to consider for your next story (and I do hope there will be more stories from you!)
