The thing most of note recently is probably Durarara (http://animesuki.com/series.php/1567.html). Get gg's subs then switch to Ecliptic & BSS after ep 6. The author for the light novel is the same as the author of Baccano!
Nothing else from the past couple seasons is all that noteworthy IMO, although some people liked Kimi ni Todoke (shoujo romance). Further back, I watched Darker than Black and Dennou Coil recently and liked both.
