Matti and I both agree about the climax being too short and not having enough emotional punch.

That said, we both enjoyed the movie a great deal, and even more the second time we saw it.

also, I just finished reading the 7th book again, and reminded once more how much I love that series.

It's funny - I've only really read the seventh book once. I re-read parts of it, but never straight through.

I am re-reading the 6th book. The beginning with Harry flirting with that chick in the diner bothered me. LOL

I agree with your assessment in it's entirety. (Additionally, I have both the 6th and 7th books if you want to borrow them.)

As ever, Alan Rickman was excellent as Snape, and I liked Dumbledore, but felt he lacked some of the... I don't know, activity he had in the book. Unlike the other Potter movies, I felt like they balanced the relationships well, even doing justice to H/G (and not making me choke on it like the long scenes between Cho and harry).

In the end, when Ray and I were discussing the movie, I said it felt like a visual accompaniment to the book. It was well done and I love the visual quality and style (OMGHOGWARTS).
