Cinderella Suicide

I try very hard not to hate people but I think I might hate the author of Cinderella Suicide.  In the best way possible, of course.  Her story is one of the sleekest, baddest, most exciting stories I've ever heard on Escape Pod -- kind of steampunk with magnets and razorblades set in the penal colony of Australia.  A story that just makes me smile

It's a terrific story, but maybe not the best suited for audio. I ended up reading at Strange Horizons too.

Magnetic steampunk is way cool though.

I loved the audio -- accent and slang and everything. I'll probably listen to it again on my commute sometime in the next couple of weeks. It's been a long time since a story's been this much fun.

Do you know of more magnetic steampunk, John?

I've been listening to Heaven, and just started Hell, on my daily commute. I'm finding I prefer to listen to longer works rather than short stories - I think because having to stop in the middle somewhere doesn't bother me as much.

But after Hell I'll probably take a break with some short fiction, for variety, and I'll be sure to put that one on, since you've sold it so well ;)

I do the same thing as you on commutes, generally. Right now I'm listening to "Brave Men Run," which is like the Breakfast Club for superheroes.

How are you liking "Heaven" and "Hell"?
