Where Am I Going, Where Have I Been?

I know, I know, try and control yourselves. Yes, this is a blog from Dave - a rare and endangered species.

Things have been pretty wild here. Additionally, my work has blocked LJ, so...that pretty much sucks.

But here's a quick update:

Which character?

I thought you were thinking of Prince Joffrey but no one stops hating Prince Joffrey.

I suppose it's Jaime. He does get really cool later in the series.

Yeah, it's Jaime. I still kind of hate him, just not as much.

And I still completely hate Joffrey.

I really liked those books up until the fourth one when I could no longer keep track of what was going on. Having to wait a lot of years between didn't help. No shade on GRRM, but it just ruined the series for me.

I just finished Kari Sperring's superb fantasy, The Grass King's Concubine and Sherwood's Banner of the Damned which made me cry in the really good way where you wish like hell the book never had to end. Tolkien's the only other author that does that to me. I guess I haven't read any sf since The Quantum Thief. Which was amazing.
