So, Dave, How's The Writing Going?

I won't dance around this. You know where I stand on this issue. Don't make me drive out there.

You keep threatening that. What, are you like Beetlejuice or something? Do I have to say your name three times?

I'm glad you found a way through it!

For me, the writing almost always comes easier when I do NOT have time dedicated to sit down and do it. Because when an idea's really hot, it keeps nipping at my brain until it's fully grown, even if I'm not typing at it at the time, and then it's just a matter of putting on my invisibility cloak and typing it out.

Occasionally I have a whole day or afternoon just to work on writing, and what do I do? I sit in front of my computer, frustrated that nothing is happening. In theory, I would love to write for a living. But in practice, if I tried to sit down and do it in such a structured way, I would never produce another word again.

There is definitely something to be said for that, if you've already got the germ of an idea and it keeps picking at you. And I function pretty well at that level, too.

But right now: I definitely need more time! Scratching out words here and there is great, but geez, I'd love to have an hour or two that I could take a big chunk out of it. Alas.
