Do The Evolution. Vote For Saint Darwin!

Jul 24, 2009 13:12

I found out today that "Saint Darwin's Spirituals" is a finalist for the best speculative fiction story (short form) in the Parsec Awards!  Also extremely cool to note is that the story's in the finals with two other Variant Frequencies stories: Jonathan C. Gillespie's "Best in Class" and Michael Natale's "Under the Bed." Rick Stringer is simply the best at what he does. He produces cool stories like nobody else. And I'm not saying that because he produced my story, but because I heard his production of other cool stuff like The Failed Cities Monologues, The End of Flesh, and Last Flight of the Esperanza. I am, honestly, thrilled to be part of their tearm. I'm obviously very excited for him, Anne Stringer and all my other fellow authors. You can listen to all three VF stories for free at the website.

(BTW, you can't actually actually vote for the Parsec; it's a juried prize. But I thought it'd sound cool if I said Vote for St. D.)

Also, in a very cool coincidence, today Triangulation: Dark Glass has just been released, feauturing a slightly modified version of "Saint Darwin's Spirituals." Check out the unbelievable cover by Mr. Vincent Chong:

Look at that cover! Do you see something in that lense? I see something in that lense. WHAT IS IT? I don't know...Also, the cover has Rachel Swirksy's name on it! Yes, this rachel_swirsky! That means you can have a book with a Rachel Swirsky story and a D.K. Thompson story. How cool is that? Let me tell you: it's Han Shot First cool. It's Nobody Can Tell You What the Matrix Is...You Have to Experience For Yourself Cool. It's I Have Never Been This Cool Before in my Life Cool.

So order a copy and keep Saint Darwin at your bedside, or download it cheap and keep it on the other side of your lense. Whatever the case, support spiritual evolution and ghostgasms! Get yourself a copy of Triangulation: Dark Glass today!

ETA:  blairhippo, who edited the Triangulation anthology pointed out in the comments that the Parsec Awards has absolutely nothing to do with Parsec-Ink, the Pittsburgh SF group that published Triangulation: Dark Glass. I hadn't thought about that before he said something, but just in case someone else had, I thought I'd add that little disclaimer to the post.
