My Vote -- Nnnnaaaah

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage/relationship (or if you think you might be someday), and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

If you didn't know, I do live in California and you can bet I'll be voting "No" on Proposition 8.

Today, all the major corners of my neighborhood had people in yellow shirts holding signs that said Vote Yes on 8 to protect Religious Freedom. I can't imagine what same sex marriage has to do with Religious Freedom.

Its days like this that remind me I live on the far far far right side of the Orange Curtain.

I hear that, man. In my neighborhood, as much a suburb of LA as the OC, there's so many of those yellow signs, all next to the McCalin yard signs. Do not like.

The stupid thing is, it doesn't impact my faith or my religious freedom or my marriage at all. I don't know why it should upset somebody else's...

Obviously it means that you're free to be in any kind of relationship your religion approves of, so long as it's a heterosexual marriage. And you were both virgins on your wedding day.

If Prop 8 passes, everyone will be free to be a fundamentalist Christian and, at the end of the day, isn't that the only religious freedom worth defending?
