You can eat for cheaper than 400 bucks a month, easily. If you pay attention to what you actually buy, I imagine you can cut that in half without suffering from scurvey or rickets.
Also, if LA is any indication, 200 bucks seems like a fair (if a little high) alotment for commuting. I think I ended up spending 170 a month myself, and that got me from Claremont to Hollywood.
It's scary to figure out that kind of stuff ahead of time though. I don't want to be supporting myself entirely just yet. Yeesh.
Point. I have a food stipend here for $400/mo, so I just used that number. But Copenhagen has a 25% sales tax and I try to make that money also cover entertainment and most of my Christmas shopping. I should've paid more attention to my grocery costs in Philly, but since Nelson and I ate together so often and most of his food was covered by his parents I couldn't really track it.
