it was apparently "definitely in the bottom drawer". contents of the bottom drawer, so that others may draw their own conclusions:

• 1 fish pie mix (right part of the animal kingdom, at least 10% salmon)
• 3 bags of chicken stock
• 6 bags of yarn
• 1 bag of sort of fishy looking thing

i went with the latter. if i'd decoded "definitely on the bottom" as "on the middle" i might have had a chance, i suppose...
