As requested progress shot of muh costume. I will eventually have blood splatter, leggings, a hat, etc. but right now...just the dress and apron.

Hilarious moment in in the Rideau Center food court...girl in PETA jacket eating a chicken burger from KFC. True story. PETA...shudder...(I believe PETA has a ban on KFC)

rants, sewing, halloween

You sure this wasn't someone from the counter-group "People Eating Tasty Animals?"

No... though she seemed to think that whatever they served was tasty. :)

Canadian KFCs supposedly agreed to PETA's conditions, but not the American's branch. As a part of this, the Canadian KFCs introduced a vegan "chicken" patty. It's a damn good fake burger. I eat it every so often. :)

Ah...well then they are sometimes not as hypocritical. :P

However, justify how one of their vice presidents is okay with being on insulin. By her logic, she should just die. Or why they think firebombing medical testing labs under the name ALF and "vegan power" (some of these are university run labs). Or how they can justify equating slavery and the holocaust to how we treat animals (that just disgusts me how they can trivialize those human atrocities like they do - shame on them).

They believe in "total animal liberation" - you owning a pet of any kind goes against their mandate. In their eyes, you and I are the enemy.

In my mind, PETA is no better than Pro-lifers who kill abortion doctors. The cult disgusts me and IMHO is almost as bad as Scientology.

As for medication, I am fuzzy on where to draw the line there so I can't really comment, as I haven't fully decided what to believe yet, myself. I despise animal testing, though, especially things like vivisection. That is the epitome of cruelty ( ... )

I meant "humanity's selfish desires", not "needs".
