Ooh, I'm a huge fan of both of these types too. The Currently Bad Boy is a trope I wasn't fond of to start with and am becoming rapidly sicker of, but the Reformed Bad Boy is fantastic. Two books featuring one that I've really enjoyed lately are Jane by April Linder (retelling of Jane Eyre) and Freefall by Mindi Scott. And the Snarky Boy Next Door is my real-life favorite, so I also like seeing him in fiction. James from Ballad is one of my favorite examples there.

Great post, and one I totally agree with. I love seeing nice guys in fiction! (The quirky boy next door you mentioned is my personal favorite, heh.) When it comes to fantasy, I love the HUMAN nice guy, 'cause gosh, those poor boys always end up so ignored when the Obligatory Hot Supernatural Guy starts prowling about.
