Welcome to the Hall of Shiny New Ideas. This is where I have been living for the past several weeks. This is also why I haven't posted for a while - because I've been trying to corral my creativity into one or two WIPs, so I actually have something to report. Honestly? It hasn't really happened yet. But I've finally given up and decided that it ( Read more... )

All of these ideas are amazing; the cutest is by far 'Sort of Super,' but my absolute favorite is the Untitled one. I have a fascination with Russian culture, and not enough stories are set there. Just keep writing; don't force it to happen but don't force yourself to stop either (that made sense...). It's a tricky craft, but if you stick with it you'll have some amazing stories on your hands. You already have incredible starting points.

I love that one too. I've got a really cool scene in my head with the Irish Seelie court and a club and the Russian rusalki (mermaids)...I've just got to figure out how to glue all my disjointed ideas together. :) I've been trying not to worry too much about which ones I going to work on exclusively - I'm having too much fun with all of them. :)

I tried to juggle two WIPs at once. For me it didn't work out, pretty soon it became clear which one I liked more. So I went with that one and put the other on hold. I guess I just can't focus on more than one project at once.

New shiny ideas can be both a gift and a curse. Before, when I was just starting out writing, I used to try to force myself to juggle multiple ideas. Well, it really didn't work out but even then, you don't want to give up on the idea, because knowing me, I feel guilty. I feel like my ideas are my babies and if I neglect just one of them, I feel like a bad mother. So, what I do is, I jot down notes for all of them and just elaborate on the one that I think can get the most out of me.

I'm in love with Red Ink. It sounds amazing! And the Untitled story sounds great too. The book I am currently writing is based off a lot of Romanian and Russian folklore.

But anyways, the one key piece of advice I can give you about juggling a lot of stories is, don't stress yourself out. Write what you can, when you can.
