Yesterday the Title company recorded our purchase .... we now officially own our very first house!!!!*

*(Well ok, officially the bank "owns" it - but you know what I mean.)

Chris went to Sears today and bought appliances. We did Consumer Reports sleuthing first, looking at repair history and features. Then Chris went to look in person (while I was at work.) We also opened a Sears credit card there, which saved us money. We'll only use it for this, and then close it ( Read more... )

I just spoke with my brother and my Mom (with Sarah chiming in weakly in the background.)

Sofia Jane was born this morning at 6:28am.
7 lb, 14 oz (where did all the weight go???)
21 inches long

And sleeping contentedly.

5:00am, and still nothing on Sarah. (worry)

I'm about ready to go to the gym, and then school. Chris is off today, though, so he'll be here for any phone calls.

It's 10:15pm, and after posting this I'm going to bed. Around 6:00 Dad called to let me know that they were switching to a (different?) drug to induce her, because whatever they were trying first wasn't working ( Read more... )

Part of what I did over this long weekend was to plot the rooms of our new house on graph paper, along with the major pieces of furniture. Then I played around, finding out where our furniture would go! Partially this is to help for moving day, because then we can tell the movers exactly where the furniture goes. I'm hyper aware of the time today. It's almost 1:00; Sarah was at the hospital at 7:00am. 6 hours.

I just spoke with my Dad. Nothing's happening yet. She even went home for a little bit. (!)
