Author’s Note: First tennis het and *gasp* nothing to do with my OTP. Someone had a meme in the tennis kink thread. I couldn’t see anything kinky about them so it’s here instead.
He watches as the press zeroes in on her. The recently crowned #1 player on the ladies side is being called the favorite to win this major.
It is strange to hear that as she hasn't yet won the big one. From what he's heard, there's a lull until one of the "great players" gets healthy again and she is just filling the void until then.
It doesn't seem that way as she's won match after match since achieving that ranking. She walks the grounds here as if she's always been in the spotlight. Granted, she was close to winning last year, but this is not the same player.
No longer content with being "the little sister" or "the other Russian", she wants to win this badly. Ask either of her first two opponents here and they'd probably say she's shown no mercy, sacrificing two games in two matches. Two games.
He must admit he's impressed.
The press has practically given him the title already, though he knows there's still many matches to go.
But if he can make it to the winner's circle again, he would like for Dinara to give him the first dance.
