The 30 Day Fanart History Meme - Days 13 and 14 (NSFW)

Another couple answers, another couple new pieces I've never posted before. One of them is pretty explicit by my standards and is definitely NSFW, so it's behind a cut.

Day 13 - Do you prefer canon or fanon when you draw? Has drawing fanart for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?I vastly prefer canon ( Read more... )

It's the same thing for anime-in-French-only fan, some can't stand Kagome either.
BUT the "uselessness" of Kagome is really stupid. If Kagome wasn't here: she wouldn't have set Inuyasha free, she wouldn't have exploded the Shikon no tama in so many pieces I'm dizzy, they wouldn't have met Sango miroku etc.... So it means that the manga wouldn't have existed. It's just my thinking...

And the two pics... WOW! It's true that a drawing like that is much more beautiful to see than full nudity, and you're showing the feelings of love of the two, it's the thing that's even more beautiful!

You know, I have sat down and intended to write smex and it has warped into something everyday and rated no worse than k+...easier, I think, when you're writing than when you're doing art.

Well, we all know where I prefer to write InuYasha and Kagome...considering 90% or more of my stuff is post-manga....

As a writer, I'm not sure the issue is really so much the fanon as it is an overabundance of very young writers. Inuyasha, as a character and as a show, brings a LOT of baggage to the table. Young writers really don't have the subtlety or experience to do him justice. Writing, in the end, is like drawing. you could completely change the meaning of these picture by changing to set of Kagome's mouth.

And you want a series that got warped by dubbing, check out Sailor Moon. Oh Lord, they tried to protect us poor little kids from the evils of lesbianism, and instead gave us kissing cousins.
