My mom had an appointment with our doctor today to go over some blood work she had done last week completely unrelated to the mammogram. She was scared she was going to be diabetic because it runs strong on her side of the family and she had been borderline before. As it turns out, she's not diabetic and not even borderline anymore; her sugar is

Even if you guys aren't totally in the clear, that is very very good news to hear! And damn those people at the screening center. I swear, some of them get a kick out of seeing how much they can scare people with news like that.

Hoping the good vibes keep flowing and everything turns out ok.

Sometimes, it takes someone who actually knows what they're talking about to set the record straight, doesn't it? I don't know about the screening center people, but I do know that lots of times the techs who do the tests aren't allowed to talk about the results except for in the most general of terms, since they're not qualified by medical boards to make diagnoses.

Did her doctor tell your mom the recipe for getting rid of those cysts? Vitamins E and B6 (she can tell her the dosage she needs), and no caffeine?

(I disclaim that by saying I'm not a doctor, don't play one on TV, and didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I just know what's worked for me with them in the past. It's a nice gentle therapy.)

I'm happy for you and your Mom. I've sometimes had to ask several times for the results of tests because one person can't tell you and another thinks that someone else has. It can be frustrating!
