I broke my left wrist on Thursday afternoon. Got home from hospital today. Two plates and a bone graft. Very sore and swollen.

You poor thing! How did you do it? I suppose typing an answer to that question probably won't be easy. I hope you have some quality pain management as that kind of thing can hurt like hell.

Mis-stepped off the small retaining wall in the back yard about 3.30 pm. Knew the wrist was broken, so got inside, rang the ambulance. Broken diagonally across the radius - two plates and a bone graft done under a nerve block. No cast because of swelling - lots, good pain relief and pain is dying down. No use of arm for two weeks, then outpatient appointment (not looking forward to seeing the scar) for assessment. Then 4 weeks light use. Already bored. Will probably cry my eyes out when mum gets here.

Lots of sympathy, sounds nasty. Good drugs help and scars just mean you have lived a bit. It is the weird tattoos after crazy cons that are worrying. ( I am still contemplating a Constantinople tatt.)
