Writer's Block: It Sounds Better When You Say It

Jun 06, 2009 07:57

I used to whisper in an ex-girlfriends ear "Je T'aime vous ma petit cochon."   She loved it, French sounds incredibly sexy pretty much no matter what you say.  In this case I waited several months before telling her it meant, I love you my little pig.

Do you want to know how to say it correctly in French? It's : "Je t'aime mon petit cochon".
If you say: "Je t'aime ma petite cochonne" it would mean "I love you my little dirty-minded one".

Here are some expressions we use in French to talk to our loved one (if we have one, of course).
mon amour (mohn a-moor) = my love
mon bébé (mohn bay-bay) = baby
ma belle (mah bel) = my beautiful (one) - for girls only
ma biche (mah beesh) = my doe - for girls only
ma caille (mah kahy) = my quail
mon canard (mohn ka-nar)= my duck
ma chérie/mon chéri (mah/mohn shay-ree) = my dear
mon chou (mohn shoo) = my cream puff
mon coeur (mohn ker) = my sweetheart
mon lapin (mohn la-pahn) = my rabbit
mon loup (mohn loo) = my wolf - for boys only
mon poulet (mohn poo-lay) = my chicken - for boys only
mon trésor (mohn tray-zor) = my treasure
mon poussin (mohn poo-sahn) = my chick
ma puce (mah poose) = my flea - for girls only
mon sucre d'orge (mohn sookr-dorzh) = my barley sugar

As you can see, we love animals. LOL
