Not feeling up to a coherent post, so here's a bulleted list.

  • Watched The Avengers. Great fun. RDJ was even prettier than in the Iron Man films (I think aging is agreeing with him). Captain America, on the other hand, really needed to lose that stick up his (admittedly not bad to look at) arse. I booed whenever he was mean to my darling Tony, ( Read more... )

Agreed on fun!Avengers. Still not sure why my parents didn't find it fun, as I'm sure they've seen and liked other superhero films which were just as action packed.

Hope the persistent pigeons aren't scaring off the nicer birdies. And that you can keep persistent!pigeons from nesting.

*hugs* While I hope that the enjoyment with writing will come back eventually, I can understand giving up where there is no enjoyment. I do hope there has been some fun with writing in the past. I've certainly enjoyed the results.

Argh with clothes shopping. Hope you have better luck next time.

Tired of chocolate?!

Idea of new TV must be shiny.

Kobo certainly knows how to get you to buy from them!

One of the pigeon!couple was getting all puffed up and doing little circles on the edge of the balcony, attempting to look mighty and sexy for the other pigeon, so nesting is a definite concern. And yes, as much as I try to drive them off, I'm also trying to not scare of the little birdies while doing so, which complicates things.

Well though I will be sad not to read more stories from you, I can respect your decision not to continue if trying to write is just making you unhappy. A leisure activity shouldn't make you miserable, after all. *hugs* And perhaps freeing yourself of this pressure and stress will contribute to your general wellbeing.

(I confess, though, that I hope one day you'll come back to it. Your last exchange fic was one of my absolute favourites.)

Clothes shopping sucks in general. I still haven't found the right jeans for me in this country.

Regarding exercise, it's worth doing some thorough investigation on the internet about how to deal with the kind of problems you're getting. Me, I'm wondering if there's some dietary re-jigging that might help your tendons/ligaments/other tissues adapt better to being used. *more hugs*

I'm trying to think if there's something that might cheer you up in general ...

The not-happiness with writing has been brewing for a few years now, so it was about time, I suppose. But I think I did it for all the wrong reasons, really - not so much because there was an inner need to writeI'm a bit sad about it, but eh ( ... )

I really hate shopping, yeah. Don't really have any alternative to actually going and trying things on either, though. :-/

*huggles back*

Thanks. I'm just not really in a very up-cheerable place right now, I think.

There's nothing that says you have to write if you're not enjoying it. Like others have mentioned, I hope that some time away without pressuring yourself to do it might bring some of the enjoyment back. Take enjoyment in reading and reviewing for the time being.

Sorry to hear you sounding so depressed in general...

*sending you lots of hugs*

It's nice to read books again instead of fanfic, but I have a feeling it's part of what made me feel so incredibly inadequate and contributed to the realisation that there's really no point for me to struggle with this stuff.

Thanks.

*hugs too*

Yay for Avengers - so glad you liked it!

Is there another sort of exercise you could do instead of walking that would take pressure off your feet? Missing out on a daily endorphin boost might make things harder. :(

Clothes shopping is a fickle beastie.

Definitely only write if it brings you some sort of enjoyment. I'm also completely out of that loop these days. It feels like a real chore whenever I try.

Avengers was fun, yes!

There's no exercise other than walking that I'd even be willing to contemplate. Exercise has always been something I loathe - it's never ever given me enjoyment, just something I think I "should" do (well, I know I should, or I'll become one with the chair some day). Walking's really always been the best of the bad options, not just the only accessible one.

I should probably look into some kind of sports shoes that are kind to my heels. I doubt they'd help much with tendon pain, but my actual heels seem to be in pain these days, too, so perhaps that would help.
