Sorry this has taken me forever to post. My computer crashed and had to wait to get a new one.

The VA Hospital administration building looked on the outside like every other government facility. Christian parked his rented Charger in the slot marked visitors. He had a meeting with Dr. John Hudson and VA’s lawyer Gideon Arcadian. It was the first face to face Christian had with his advisersary. The meeting guaranteed to be interesting if not explosive.

Walking up to the young woman sitting at the front desk. Gracing her with one of his trademark charming smiles Christian handed her one of his business cards. “Hello Darling. Christian Kane I am here to see Dr. Hudson and Gideon Arcadian.”

Ann Johnson blushed a little at the handsome man smiling at her. She read the business card then looked back up at the man. “Of course Mr. Kane please follow me to the conference room.” Ann stood up straightening her skirt nervously wishing she had worn her black high heels instead of the drab flats.

Christian smirked to himself as the woman slowed her walk adding just a little more swing to her hips. He did enjoy the effort she put forth in trying to garner his attention. She was pretty and petite with wavy blonde hair that fell to just between her shoulders. Christian was partial to blondes with slim hips and tight asses and three days for scruff on their faces. Christian bit his lip thinking about his lover Steve who was probably still laying tangle in their bed sheets at the moment.

Reaching the door to the conference room Ann turned to give Christian a flirtatious smile. “I will let Dr. Hudson know you are here Mr. Kane.”

Christian leaned in close so his lips brushed her ear. “Thanks for the show sweetheart. But pussy isn’t really my thing.” Christian gave her a wink as he opened the conference room door.

The hospital ICU was quiet but for all the blips and bleeps of machines. The smell of sterilizer and sickness was nauseating to Detective Moody. She hated hospitals, hated any medical setting as a whole. It was full of death, sickness and assholes with superiority and God like complexes.

Sitting in a wheel chair next to her son’s hospital bed Margaret Ventimiglia held Robby’s limp hand. The doctors assured her that Robby would pull through. He was young and healthy besides the injuries from the accident weren't life threatening. The doctor’s had placed Robby into a medically induced coma  just to give his body time to heal.

Clarice stood outside the hospital room watching Margaret. She didn’t know if what happened to the woman and her son had anything to do with her brother’s suicide or the break in of his apartment. Nothing about the separate events felt right, Clarice was willing to bet her badge that they were all connected some how.

Stepping into the room. “Ms. Ventimiglia. I am detective Moody we’ve spoken before regarding your brother.” Clarice said softly.

“Go away unless your here to tell me you found the bastard who ran us off the road.” Margaret said not turning to face Clarice. She sounded tired and defeated.

“Only have one question for you Ms. Ventimiglia. Did you recognized the person at the wheel of the other car? Even if they looked like someone you might know would help us.” Clarice asked crouching next to Margaret’s wheel chair.

Sighing Margaret closed her eyes for a moment. The memory of looking into the rearview mirror and seeing the grill of the car behind her hit her car and  the insane look of the face of the man at the wheel. He had no descriptive features but his teeth were clinched in a snarl like a rabid dog. “He looked deranged. He had  on a baseball cap. Blue with a Red C on the front.”

“Like a Chicago Cub’s cap?” Clarice took out her phone and pulled up a picture of a Chicago Cub baseball cap to show Margaret.

Margaret nodded “Yeah. I am pretty sure that’s what it looked like.”

Putting her hand on Margaret’s shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze. “Thank you. I’ll get this guy Ms. Ventimiglia I promise.”

Every time he heard a car or a distant sound of a siren Tobias peeked out his window waiting to see the police pulling up to his house. He had watch on the tv news about the car crash that put a mother and son in the hospital. He called in sick to work and had an army duffle bag packed and ready to make a run for it. Fucking Milo had to screw up all  of his plans. Padalecki would be ruined if only that crazy fucker waited until the time was right to off himself.

Tobias jumped a little at the sound of his phone ringing. Glancing at the caller id it was the VA Hospital. “Hello.”

“Hello is this Tobias Jane?” a cheery female voice asked.

“Yes this is.” Tobias answered

“Great. I am Angela Bancroft I am an attorney with the firm of Arcadian & Tosh. We are representing the VA Hospital in a law suit leveled against them by Dr. Jared Padalecki and five of his patients. I understand that you had a grievance against Dr. Padalecki after he treated you for PTSD?”

“Padalecki is a fucking hack. Cost me a job with his psychological review he put in my file.” Tobias felt his rage flooding back.

Angela hummed her fingers flying across the lap top key board. “We would love to get a deposition from you Mr. Jane.”

Tobias looked out his window as a car past his house. “When?”

“Would tomorrow afternoon be ok?” Angela asked typing yes on the deposition request appointment calendar.

The mail man juggled the handful of envelopes in his hand as he unlocked the bank of mail boxes for the row of condo’s on the opposite side of the street. This was his last stop before heading back to the office and checking in his truck and heading home. A rumble of thunder and the darkening sky told him he was finishing just in time.
