I'm reading Wicked before long. You don't have that on your list, but I see Son of a Witch and Mirror Mirror. So you should totally take one of those.

I thought about reading Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. Let me know how it is?

Also, Y: the Last Man rocks.

yeah, i read wicked and confessions of an ugly stepsister a long time ago (over a year). but then for whatever reason i didn't feel like immediately reading the other two and just never have..

have you read me talk pretty? that one is hilarious. barrel fever was also good, but slightly less hilarious. i think BFE was reading corduroy at the beach last year..

i know! you've read girl genius, right?!

I haven't ready any books by him, I think. I should!

Also, Girl Genius? Nope. Should I?

For the record, I hated the Beauty books. Somehow they managed to bore me and NOT arouse me at the same time. I'm okay with shitty plot if there's good smut, and I'm okay with lack of smut for the sake of awesome plot (I'm less forgiving of lackluster smut, but after a certain point its awfulness comes back around and the descriptions get hilarious), but for me the Beauty books were one of those "I want those x hours back" scenarios.

i love them so much. i've reread them way too many times to imagine giving them up. however, according to delicious library (software that keeps track of my books) i still have less than 500 books. so i'm safe for now..

thats one of my favorite bits about a good roommate- they have books i haven't read so that i can get new stuff w/o having to make my collection bigger..

I would suggest just about anything by Tamora Peirce. I've only read the Alanna quartet and I'm almost done with the Immortals quartet. Her books are based in Tortall and are so far at least always about strong women, well actually girls generally in their teen years. They will most likely be easy reads, but I really liked them.

your list makes me smile... anonymous December 13 2007, 02:47:45 UTC
So many GOOD ones that I haven't read in AWHILE and whenever I reread Greeno I think of you...I just picked up my Eddings again, what a nice holiday season type diversion. The perfect book to read while on bedrest. Have you read Anne Bishop? I think you would really enjoy her Dark Jewels trilogy. I read Carey and thought the Bishop books were much better. Also Laurell K Hamilton, especially the early Anita Blake stuff. Email me and we can chat more.
