The George

I was in the car on the way to work when I heard, and I squealed.

And this is just gorgeous:

Wow. Wow. All right, so I'm not winning director. It's the funny thing about winning an Academy Award, it will always be synonymous with your name from here on in. It will be Oscar winner, George Clooney. Sexiest Man Alive, 1997. Batman, died today in a ( Read more... )

Yeah, I look at the films nominated, and I honestly don't want it to be come a competition over whose is the worthiest 'issue' because all of them have content that is interesting, and certainly worth telling people about.

But at the end of the day the judges vote on which film worked for them. Brent Spiner was at a Convention three weeks ago, and he's one of those voters and he told us that the story of 'gay cowboys' didn't work for him. Now, I don't think that was 'code' for homophobic, it's just that some people don't like romance films and some do, and that's why it's so subjective.

A co-worker (who I really don't like) said that Munich didn't win because it was anti-Israeli propaganda, well...that's her opinion, maybe it's so. For me I think that film is a bit more of a hot potato then BB

Amen. I adore the George. He's just a genuinely nice bloke, which is really nice to see. I'm really thrilled for him. :)

I fall back in love all over again.

I saw that last night and I generally don't like awards shows on principle, but I do like Jon Stewart so I tried to catch some of his act. But I saw George's acceptance speech and almost cried. Things like that just make me stand up a little bit straighter.
