Wow. You did it again Kat! My gosh. I don't read Twilight fic, are there a lot of Renee/Charlie stories pre cannon? I absolutely love this one and it's so in CHARACTER. It's brilliant.

I totally can picture Charlie just befuddling his way through it and Renee demanding and being absent-minded enough to forget to buy diapers.

I don't really read anything outside of Edward/Bella but I don't think I've seen many Renee/Charlie fics. I'm glad you think that it's in character since I've never written these two before so it was kind of intimidating for me. lol.

Oh I really loved it. And it's so much fun to take a peek into her heritage. I mean Bella is SUCH an odd girl, really. I mean she's not at all even phased that this guy who's so beautiful and sexy is a vampire. Then along comes werewolves and still, unphased. She faces death and all sorts of horrifying situations and just shrugs and willing goes through it. Then in Eclipse when it's time to possibly get married to the man she loves, she WIGS out and doesn't want to tell her mom or dad. I think that says alot about the type of people she came from

Bella definitely wasn't raised in a traditional way. lol. And she isn't entirely normal and part of that is genetic. In the chapters of Midnight Sun that was leaked, it's revealed that while Edward can read Charlie's mind, his thoughts aren't as clear as other people's. He can read Charlie's feelings through his thoughts but not his exact words or something like that, this probably lends to Bella's ability to close her mind. In Eclipse Renee was able to pick up on Edward and Bella's unique connection but I think that may be more of a motherly instinct than anything else

Nice. It manages to be sympathetic to both Charlie and Renee while at the same time showing how different the two of them really are. I also love that Bella has a propensity to be tomato-like so early in her life.
