It is time to say goodbye to my graduate student barbie icon. I'm no longer a graduate student. That's right: as of today I have earned my PhD!

I was all set to defend my dissertation tomorrow. Unfortunately, one of my committee members is stuck in Argentina due to the volcanic ash. So now my private defense has been postponed until next week. I am so very tired of having this hand over my head. And my future life is dependent on passing this defense. A year ago today, my water broke and I was convinced that within 24 hr, I would meet my daughter. I was wrong, it took until almost 48 hr afterwards until I finally held the Bug in my arms.
