Commenting on a fairly old post, but it seemed like the perfect one, lol.

Okay, so I joined WriYe the other day and just saw your post in the NaNo thread, about your plot, and um, hivemind much? We're writing the exact same plot this year!

(I'm curious about how you plan to go about it. I'm thinking going the sitcommy "everything that can go wrong, will" route.)

I had totally forgotten about that plot! Ooohhhh, I might have to plot that one out and see if THAT one is gonna work instead of the one I currently have! The one I currently have is "A group of teenage vampires are out to rid the world of bad pop music."

I get caught up on the "bad pop music" thing. Not to mention, when I plotted it out, the plot only got to about halfway before being done.

And yeah, SO HIVEMIND! That was the first one I thought of. I think I would base it more on my previous experiences with NaNo: I've had words get lost into the great unknown, I've had MAD bouts of writer's block. I have a toddler now so that completely changes my outlook on writing. I've tried to go the route of shameless padding and it works only some of the time. I've had family commitments. Hmmmm. I'm definitely going to have to figure this out and see if I can work THIS plot better than the one I HAVE currently.

And I had totally forgotten you'd mentioned that new plot, I just saw that you'd posted that, and went "Hey, same idea! Sweet!"

I think that's similar to the way I'm gonna do it. The whole deal where all my character wants to do is write, but SOMETHING (her family wants to go out to dinner, her power goes out, she gets a phone call, she gets distracted by the Internet, etc., etc.) keeps her from doing it. I'm also gonna work on how her writing process works, due to a prompt set I'm working with to keep my juices flowing (with prompts such as "prologue" and "point of view").

I also think I'm gonna include excerpts of the novel she's writing and how it evolves as time goes on for her.
