I suppose there is a pun hidden in there, but I can't see it. Care to explain?

An American can look at it and pronounce it as 'Ass Puddin'

I mean, don't you see? "ASS pudding", like "ASS" which has "PUDDING" inside of it or on top of it. It's funny, because any word with "ASS" in it is inherently funny.
