Hey, congrats! There is ALWAYS a last-minute problem with filing -- mine was that the employees were taking the afternoon off for an office party ;) Also, there is always a typo you notice right after filing -- luckily, yours was in lj and not in the diss!!

My typo was having left out a backslash in some of the LaTeX code for the index, so that on page 85 somewhere a LaTeX command appears in the plaintext, and presumably that page doesn't properly show up in the index for the relevant topic.

oh, those are annoying. I caught some italicized 'sigma's floating around in my mathematical formulas, so I'm pretty sure I didn't have any of those.

I haven't looked at my dissertation since I filed it, so I hope there wasn't a prominent typo. I have this irrational fear there's one in the acknowledgements or eep! the dedication, since those were the parts I typed up last. But I'm pretty sure I read through that to double- and triple-check. Still, I won't be sure until I open that file again (which may not be until I get my new computer).

Thanks for the congrats, though!

I get a mere mention, while aleph gets a whole paragraph? PS I think operation "cheese drop" was successful.

aleph is simply bigger than you.

Awesome. I would hate to think of what would have happened if operation "cheese drop" had awfully backfired.

That could have been messy. :0

Actually the guy had been out of contact with me for a while, so I was nigh on releasing the cheese to my roommates, but then apparently his wife got angry at him and made him follow up(?). Oh well, I was in Manhattan then, so I wouldn't have gotten to sample this delicious cheese anyway.

it seems like this cheese drop was a pretty one-sided idea... I don't know how much involvement the guy had at all.

Thanks!
