Today we got up bright and early and met with pirate_artist, once_a_banana, M. and Karen's friend Christine to go to the MoMA. They are having an exhibit of Olafur Eliasson's art, which includes a lot of work with light and mirrors. easwaran has a pretty detailed description from when he went last week. I wasn't sure if those bugs were present in north Berkeley - Matt's yard and street had tons of them, and there were some further down College, near Rockridge and Trader Joe's. But when I headed back up to my place, I didn't notice any of them. Matt thinks they're the things that breed in rotting pumpkins - which would explain their post-Halloween presence, perhaps.

well it was weird because we didn't encounter any in San Francisco and then Berkeley was filled with them, but only up until dusk. The rotting pumpkins explanation is an interesting theory--it would certainly explain their large numbers.
