Summary: Kris's parents leave a stipulation in their will that he must marry by the time he's 26 or their house and all their wordly possessions get auctioned for charity. Kris meets a young painter and decides he might be the answer to his problems until Eric makes him realize the truth of his feelings for Adam. Adam is his best friend, has been since they were children. When Kris shows up at Adam's one night to confess his feelings, Adam thinks it's because of the will. Later Adam learns the truth and sets about making things right between them. There's lots of angst but lots of touching moments too. Kris is easy go lucky and Adam is rigid and controlled. But together they're perfect.
Notes: This is written for the KradamBigBang. I was playing around with an idea of writing a story based on Pride and Prejudice but that didn't work out. Then a friend who won a fic from me for charity:water gave me the outline for the story she wanted. I thought it would be perfect for the BigBang but this isn't it either. I had already started on this particular story and once it was in my head it didn't leave. So I will write her story in the fall. Hopefully she will be patient with me until then! I think I struggled with this story more than any other I've written. Hopefully you enjoy it.
