Title: One Day You're Gonna See Things My Way (Chapter 1)
Authors: jazeycisdabomb and andrewluvsu
Pairings: Kradam, Adam and another guy for a few paragraphs
Disclaimer: NOT TRUE in the case of Adam and Kris. Based on a true story, but NOT them. Title is from 'A Day to Be Alone' by One Less Reason
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Just another love story, but this one isn't filled with chocolates, butterflies, and fluffy bunny rabbits...though sometimes there are rainbows ;)
Warnings....lots of them: At times, this will be a pretty dark story...deals with domestic violence, rape, anorexia with a touch of bulimia, cutting, and death (but not of major characters). Also, since this is based on personal experiences, it may get pretty detailed and deep. It could be triggering. You have been warned!!!!!!
Notes: Um..........so we're nervous. We only wrote this because of iluvbeefhotdogs, so if it's horrible...blame him :p Oh, and this takes place in high school.
Also, the other chapters will be longer. This was just to introduce the story pretty much.
When Kris met Adam, the first thing he noticed was how broken he was. He tried to fake being whole, and it worked on everyone but him. Kris could see the pain behind the smile, the tears behind the sparkle in his eyes, and the self-loathing behind all the makeup on his already pretty face. From the moment he saw him, he wanted to take the pain away and give the beautiful man an actual smile. He knew he couldn't. For one thing, he was just the new kid; the orphan from Arkansas. For another, Adam already had a man that should have been doing the job for him, but obviously wasn't. It killed Kris to see that guy, Connor, the gorgeous, blonde, muscular, football star, holding hands with Adam, the most gorgeous guy ever. As much as he hated it though, Kris came to terms with the fact that he would never have Adam, and he stopped obsessing. Then, once he'd finally given up hope, he overheard (it really wasn't that hard...Adam was pretty loud) Adam and one of his friends, Livie, talking.
"...No, Livie. I'm done with Connor. With everybody...it's just not worth it anymore. I hate guys!"
"Aw, man!" Kris had said before he even really knew what he was doing. "Does that mean you won't go to homecoming with me?"
Adam turned and seemed to X-ray Kris with his eyes, an unamused look on his face. That made Kris nervous, but he didn't back down.
"That depends," Adam finally said after almost a whole minute. "Do I have to fuck you afterwards?"
What the hell?! That was strange, but Kris kind of smiled and said, "Nope."
"Then maybe," Adam said.
"Alright, cool."
What had he just done? Shaking his head, Kris slumped in his seat and impatiently waited for the bell to ring so, hopefully, Livie would stop staring at him like he was a cockroach.
*********
"Alright," Adam said at the beginning of class the next day. "I'll go to homecoming with you."
"Great!" Kris couldn't help but smile. "Can I get your number so we can plan things?"
"Give me your phone."
Kris did. Adam saved his number, then handed it back. "Text or call later."
"Okay."
He walked back to his seat and Kris took a deep, but subtle breath. This was what he'd been dreaming of for two whole months; a shot with Adam. The Adam. Poor, broken, Adam.
*I'll fix him,* Kris thought confidently to himself, and from then on, knew it was a promise that he had to keep.
