Title: A Little Unfair

Summary: What happens when Adam and Kris finally make it on Ellen.
Notes: This is pretty cracky, I watched that phone interview with Ellen and this would just just not get out of my head. My first fic here (and my first AI fic, I never thought I'd be that person, haha. The things Kradam has done to me...)
Kris is waiting backstage as Adam is busy, quote unquote, 'getting down with his bad self' and if Ellen only knew maybe she would have chosen her words more carefully but then Kris isn’t thinking about that, not at all.
TV monitors had been set up in the back with a live feed to keep everyone up to date on the goings on past the threshold of stage lights and cameras, but Kris is sure he can pretty much guess every goofy thing Adam is doing based on the audience’s cheers and laughter filtering through.
Or so he thought.
Last minute techs are making sure his mic is properly attached, but Kris’ attention is drawn to the closest monitor as Adam’s grin flashes across the screen - and what can he say, he has a natural curiosity - and when the words ‘underwear’ and ‘Adam’ filter into his ears, well it’s not his fault his attention is piqued.
“-conversation during our phone call last week. I’m a little worried, is this a regular thing?” Do you wear them every time you think of me?” The quirk of Ellen’s eyebrow is visible on the tiny screen.
That smile flickers on to Adam’s face before he can clamp it down, bringing a hand to his heart in earnest. “Oh you know I think of you always.”
“So that would include right now?”
“Well, you know..” Only the first row of the audience can really catch the gleam in his eyes, but the cameras capture all of it, sending it directly to Kris just as the techs leave and Adam not-so-subtly slips his thumbs into the waistband of his pants.
Ellen steps back, giving the cameramen all the room they need for the shot, as the audience verbally hands him their approval yet again. “I’m sure everybody tuning in would like some proof. Just to be completely sure.”
He smirks, looking up through his lashes and into the camera (and directly at Kris and how does he know he’s watching?) before it zooms in for the shot of his hip as he slowly lifts the hem of his t-shirt.
His fingertips brush over his stomach before diving into his pants and plucking out the distinctly bright red waistband for all to see and Kris thinks this is just a little unfair.
Cameras pan back out for the full effect before Adam lets the band snap back into hiding. A two second count passes before the laughter is spilling out of Adam’s mouth and the intense look filters out of his eyes.
It’s not until Adam is safely backstage and whisked into wardrobe that he texts Kris. Beat that ;) flashes onto the screen and as Kris puts the phone back into his pocket and steps into the bright lights he thinks maybe this is more than just a little unfair.
