That was lovely. Just... perfect. And sad, but without making me all weepy like most post-veil fics tend to do. I love the descriptions of Harry and Sirius's relationship, and I think they're spot on. I never believed Sirius only saw Harry in terms of James redux, and I like how you include all the layers of their love for each other, both the complexity and the utter simplicity. Very sweet.

Evil? Evil? You call me EVIL? Not that I'm denying it, mind you. You rec me Stealing Harry, but I'm the evil one? :)

Hee. Only on chapter seven (started this evening) and I've already died about a thousand times over. I'm surprised I'm not just a big puddle of goo on the floor. Talk about hitting all my buttons. My teacher button! The mom in me button! At eight, Harry would be the same age as my third graders. (And, man, he's got to be WAY smart and an exemplary reader to read C.S. Lewis at eight, excuse me, eight and a half. Not that I'm complaining.) And now Remus has to admit to himself that he loves Sirius? Oh, GodHee. Anyway, thank you so very much for your comments on the story. I'd been pondering briefly why Harry would be so attached to Sirius, seeing as how they'd spent so little time together, all things being equal. I guess instead of being academic about it, I went . . . creative about it? Besides, I don't think Hermione gets voiced nearly enough. Regardless, you made my night and today with your kind ( ... )

hee. I'm sure you knew exactly what you were doing with that rec. That said, I loved Stealing Harry so much. I have real fondness for Harry even in the books, and I absolutely adore stories were he is little. And in this one he is especially little and cute. With Frog! I also have a definite fondness, even in real life, for men who are good with children. And, well, when those men are Sirius and Remus, then. Gah ( ... )
