This is one of the most impassioned, well thought-out, beautiful pieces of prose I have seen in a long long time.

If I lived in CA, I would vote against this horrible proposition.

Just picking a nit, but it should be civic duty, not civil duty.
I would help y'all if I could vote in CA - sadly, they do not allow IL residents to vote in CA.

It means, he added, "You stay with someone the rest of your life."
He's right. Marriage should be about love and commitment. It should not be about discrimination and taking away people's rights.
