Shock ;; PG
Where their love is forbidden, and the Gods punish them.

There can't be anything worse than this, Soohyun thought to himself as his eyes followed a figure in the crowd. He'd been reduced to following his lover from a distance ever since the Gods damned their relationship.

But why, he'd asked, why is it forbidden? The silence that followed his question was deafening, as though the answer was obvious. Then they were forcefully separated, his lover's memories erased, and Soohyun was left to live with the memories of their relationship while his lover lived life ( ... )

Infinite, Myungsoo/Sungyeol
title: taking flight (r)

“look,” myungsoo said, stopping in front of the seven balloons they had purchased two days earlier at the convenience store.

sungyeol squinted, shielding his eyes from the sunlight. he wasn’t sure if he should completely blame it on the bright sunlight as he held myungsoo’s gaze. he was about to do something crazy and impossibly stupid again. sungyeol could tell from the way his pursed lips turned up and fingers tightening their grasp on his scarred wrist.

“look,” myungsoo said again, more insistently this time as he tugged on sungyeol’s limp hand, still indicating at the coloured balloons.

so he looked.

the strings attached to the balloons had tags on them now. myungsoo had written his messages on each of them, spelling out his wants and needs in scarlet letters. they weren’t ordinary, innocent greetings like Myungsoo says Hello! or I’m bored, play with me. Instead, they were commands (demands), all seven of them.

1.write me a poem, burn it and deliver the ashes to me ( ... )

“what’s the point of all this?” sungyeol asked, twirling the string of balloon number four around his fingers. myungsoo grabbed it and tied it back around the pole but pauses half way before untying the rest of the balloons and holding them out for sungyeol to take.

“release them for me,” he instructed as sungyeol looked up at him questioningly.

“just do it.”

sungyeol did as he was told, letting go of the balloons one by one, smiling as he let the last one go.

“make me cry, huh?”

myungsoo grinned and freed the balloon from sungyeol’s grasp. together, they watched all seven balloons float up to the clouds, up up and away.

myungsoo broke the silence and chuckled. he offered to buy ice-cream but sungyeol was already getting drowsy from all the pills.

“you want someone to ask you out and you’re going to say no?” he questioned a few minutes later, after deciding to take up myungsoo’s offer for ice-cream after all. myungsoo shrugged.

“maybe I’ll say no. or yes. maybe.”

“right.”

“you know me too well. I’m saying no.”

as they were reaching the ice-cream parlour, sungyeol looked up and suddenly, instead of the clear skies, the balloons were everywhere, the city air marred with blood on paper and ridiculous wants, and nothing, and no one could stop them from coming. the sky belonged to Myungsoo

the waiter led them to their seats and handed them a menu each. myungsoo ordered a double-scoop chocolate caramel cone without glancing at the menu. there was no such flavour on the menu but the waiter, sunggyu, had nodded enthusiastically as he wrote down the order. after sungyeol had asked for some coffee, sunggyu tore off the paper, slid it over the counter and reached into his pockets, looking sheepish.

“um, I wrote this just now...so...” he mumbled, holding up a charred piece of paper for myungsoo to see.

sungyeol could make out the words ‘myungsoo’ and ‘listen to my heart’ and ‘one by one’.

myungsoo folded the blackened piece of paper and placed it back into sunggyu’s pocket, smiling.

“I asked for ashes, and next time, be original.”

sunggyu looked down in ( ... )
