kind of depressing. i don't know if the facts are quite right.

bom isn't present while it happens. but while it happens, she remembers eating an eggplant steak. she will always associate the taste of eggplant with death.

her mother calls her later that day.

"your aunt's burial is over. we sent her off. she's...in peace now."

bom hangs up without a word. she's scheduled for an appointment with a dermatologist, she pastes a smile onto her face and manages to semi-focus when the doctor explains procedures. when she arrives home, she locks herself in the bathroom.

"i'm taking an extra long bath" she announces.

she turns on the water, extra hot. and when the tub fills, she submerges and cries until she runs out of breath.

the fateful day in may is bom's new beginning. she fingers her long hair and prays inwardly.

"auntie, are you looking down on me?" she wonders.

the stage isn't her best. she's disappointed. but there's an exhilaration inside of her that she can't describe. she's finally here. on stage. singing

like stars in the night sky and sweet, sweet honey. and it doesn't seem to matter seems like a very empty/confusing statement in this case, because if i woke up chained it would definitely matter to me? but it's still very interesting and i think you should keep going~

i definitely agree with the first two - i wasn't happy with 'stars in the night sky' either, ngl, but i couldn't think of anything else to write instead since they're not actually stars. /makes no sense

it's supposed to be a confusing statement, though, cos there's a reason why it doesn't matter, but yeah, it definitely seems pretty empty when there's nothing following it.
