I would just like to request more variety for the song/mv prompts, perhaps some indie artists in addition to mainstream kpop?

Yes, this is one of the mod team's goals this year! We're aiming to add more variety in prompts and artists while focusing on a wide range of lyrical and MV themes.

Hi! Due to the extent to which we're moving away from using a journal platform, we've decided to remain where the infrastructure and archive are for the time being. Fics are now hosted exclusively on AO3, info and rules are mirrored on the AO3 collection profile, announcements and fic updates are posted on Twitter, and teams interact offsite. The only thing we plan to use LJ for during this cycle is hosting our prompt posts and reveals, so LJ use will be very minimal.

Hello!

The changes to the teams make sense! Although I have questions: when joining, what will determine that we end up in one team or another? Is it first come, first serve? Do we say which one of the same-topic teams we want to land on or that is going to be random?

About vice-captains... Maybe about a month in (after the team has settled in and all?) people interested in it could step up and the captain could pick one? Not the best way, there's still way to favoritism, but... at least the people considered would have to be somewhat active and want it.

Thank you!

Hi, thank you for your feedback!

Teams are assigned after all sign-ups are in, based on the participant's genre preference and the distribution of fandoms across teams. We try to give everyone their first choice of genre, but depending on the popularity of a genre, some people may end up with their second choice (since there are only 2 genres this time, hopefully there will be less chance of this than in the past!). When it comes to same-genre teams, which one you end up on is solely determined by fandom distribution.

We appreciate your input on vice-captain selection. Having only volunteers up for consideration is definitely a good idea, as is waiting to see how the team dynamics work. We will certainly put into effect the volunteers policy and some sort of waiting period before the decision (whether it's made by a mod, the team members, or both together).

Thank you very much for your comment!

Even with the new vice captain system, I'm suggesting continuous communication between mods. So that if one of you drops out, the active mods can act on it asap instead of leaving a team to their own devices. I mean, if the vice captain remains active and communicative then it's all good, but I think mods should be aware of other teams' situations.

Hi! Yes, the mod team does remain in constant communication behind the scenes. The vice-captain system is partially a safeguard for us too, since it gives us a second person to go through should a current mod become uncommunicative, and provides a second set of eyes within a team to ensure the situation on that team is conveyed to the other mods as accurately as possible. This is in direct response to issues we've encountered in past cycles, in which the situation as the mods understood it from updates they were given was not accurate to what the participants experienced. This year, our mod team is confident in the communication systems we have set up for this cycle!
