first off, i want to apologize for taking so long to reply to this! i've been having a busy time irl and wanted to be able to take the time to sit down and thoroughly read this to give it the attention it's worth.

second, just, wow. gorgeous. i love where you went with this stylistically and structurally and thematically. every sentence and word felt loaded with meaning, but it's that just-right blend between too heavy and subtle that it works beautifully. the call-backs to the original fic are subtle but they fit in so well, and the references to actual events as well -- especially that reply 1997 reference. (it was even more of a gutpunch remembering junhee's character in that drama, too T__T)

It had been a test to see if it could still happen, and the answer had been yes, and then no. The experiment lasted all of five days.

Dongwoo thinks, then says, But the song had forty-one, and Hoya laughs, too stunned to try to deny it.this line especially killed me on so many different levels ;u ( ... )

hello! thank you for this kind comment, especially since you've been pressed for time ;w;

when i got my assignment (once i had finished rolling around and squealing, that is), i knew this was exactly the fic i wanted to write. i really loved the unique tone and the themes of the original, and the way you captured all the complexities of human relationships and what we wish would happen vs. what we end up doing, and there was so much story in that one little line about hoya and sunggyu already that all i did was expand. i think i overdid it a bit o___o but i'm very happy that you liked it, and that it worked for you in harmony with your original piece!
