I've posted before about the annual Grave Sweeping holiday that many Chinese folks observe, the one where you visit the grave sites of loved ones and do a bit of housekeeping, making sure gravestones are tidy and making offerings. LOL. I overheard a conversation between a mom and kid about why they'd be burning paper food instead of real food. "But grandma loves mangoes. Why can't we burn some mangoes." The mom was boggled for a bit and said, "Oh, because that would just make jelly, not send her the mango." The kid agreed and said, "Better be a paper mango, then."

I guess she made it work. :)
