I really think there's an overflow of sex in fandom, generally, and often I find myself wanting more plot or characterization in fics than pr0n. Which sort of makes me a pariah in slash fandoms, I know. XP But it leads to me writing really different fic, so I guess it all evens out in the end. Glad you think so, anyway! \o/

Well that was definitely very strange and different, not a bad thing at all sometimes. Two of my favorite things about Batman are the Arkham Asylum comic book and the Nolan movies, so I feel that it's always a great combination if it's well written. I love the way you write B&J and I feel that you really "get" them too so well...So that even the "no sex" thing didn't bother me at all in this ( ... )

I knew it was going to be weird when I started writing it, but I was like, IT DOESN'T MATTER! The B/J fandom is full of weird people anyway, they'll get it. :P I also loved Arkham Asylum and the Nolanverse, and when I saw the challenge that caled for Arkham with that Emerson quote, I just had to try my hand at it. I'm glad the lack of sex didn't put you off! I get the feeling a lot of people saw the NO SEX and were like "Psh, screw that, where's the pr0n?" XP

I'm a hardcore Christian, but a strange one I'll admit to it, and the religious metaphors had my mind going in all sorts of awful places. I do think Gotham is shown as an insane place in most verses. Glad it all worked well for you! :D

LOL, yeah, I know the Joker and Batman don't actually want to kill each other, or at least that they won't ever do it even if they want to. But try explaining <>that to a non-fandom friend when you've got thirty seconds and she's got zero knowledge of Batman. LOL, it's basically impossible. Oh, well. XD

Well to me the sex IS very important in fanfics. Because it's hot you know, and something they probably can't really show in the movies or comics because of homophobia and everything. :P So fanfic is the only place where you can get that. But honestly as much as I love all the weird and kinky sex these guys have I especially love it when people want to explore ALL the possibilities a good B/J fic can have. One reason I like this pairing is because it's so full of all kinds of strange and interesting philosophical and mythical qualities...And you really just don't normally find that kind of complexity in most slash pairings, at least not the ones I've read before. So it's always great to see that others appreciate all that stuff too and it's not just me.

I know, sex is important to EVERYONE in fic. I just think that, when I'm writing fic, I know where my own strengths lie. I may eventually try sexfic, but if I can't write it well I don't want to put up crappy sex scenes. They're the worst. D: And I totally agree with you as well--I think B/J has a lot of metaphorical and allegorical shit going down that just doesn't happen with other pairings. Complex relationships make me squee with fangirlish joy.

OMG ICON LOVE!! ♥

I must say, that although this is well written, I hate you.

I hate you because I did not write this. And I am rife with jealousy. D:<

jerk. ( That is to say, I love you and will have your children should you like,)

Thanks a lot for commeting! ♥

I understand you hatred and jealousy and love upon them as if they were love and praise, which they secretly are in disguise but we can pretend otherwise if it pleases you. And you may have my children if you agree to raise them to support Batman/Joker and slash in general. \o/

This was fantastic! I love the dreamlike quality to the story, and the Joker cutting words into Bruce's fingers, and the Joker never speaking while he's in Arkham. I loved Bruce being snarky to his psychologist. Honestly, I loved all of it.

I wanted to try and get across the idea that they were in an insan asylum, and the drugs, but also the other half of the challenge with the literary and religious imagery. I think it turned out fairly good, which is good because if I would have worked on it any longer I think I'd have just given up. :P

I definitely enjoy this more than PWP? stories in the fandom. Little things like their hands touching through bars and psychological twists stand stark when there's actually a reason for it.

I love it.

Thanks a lot for commenting! ♥ I like the emotional/mental aspects of their relationship the most, which is why I wanted to focus on that here. \o/
