Vampires and Fanboys

1st : I found a new band I like. Cinema Bizarre. They're a German, Japanese-influenced, band who sing in English. There are five members: Strify (lead vocal), Luminor (back up vocal, keyboard), Yu (guitar), Shin (drums) and Kiro (bass). Strify, Yu and Kiro met at an anime convention! They incorporate visual kei, glam and goth rock and new wave into ( Read more... )

Is it better than Twilight? XD

I've heard of Cinema Bizzare from Hana and Robin...but I haven't actually listened to their music.

Yes and no. It isn't quite as "gotta read this, gotta finish this, how intriguing" as Twilight, and maybe that's just because of the wordiness. It does start VERY slowly. But the total "worth" of the story is about 30x's Twilight's. Twilight is a teenage-supernatural-romance dung heap, which I liked--though it kills me to admit it. Interview is a thought out, epic tale, with much more background information and character development. But it's not exactly a thriller. So, yes and no. Also, so far I have to say I at once dislike Lestat and feel sorry for him. Yes, he's a jerk, but he's also kinda pathetic, which makes me hope that Claudia won't kill him (don't tell me what happens, I'm just at this point). But Louis really does need to get away from him, they're like an abusive husband and his brainwashed wife. BTW: is it said Lou-is, or Lou-y? And last, but not least, Cinema Bizarre has pretty good music (my cd just came today), its not earth-shaking good, but its pretty catchy (especially Love Songs (They Kill Me)) and of course they ( ... )

Wow...you just described how I felt about it perfectly. But the other good thing about the Vampire Chronicles is that even though there are a bunch of sequels, they aren't stupid like the Twilight ones. Each sequel is just as thought-out as this one, but I understand what you mean when you say "wordiness" - I felt the same way about it, and it's why I'm still only on The Vampire Armand (which is the 7th book of the series). Oh, and it's "Lou-y"...and he doesn't write all of them - Lestat writes the next 4, and after you read the first one (The Vampire Lestat)...I dunno. You feel different about him, somehow (because you get his side of the story). He doesn't seem as much of a jerk in his stories, but he's still just as arrogant, which, I think, is just part of the appeal. Robin, Hana, and I can't help but like him, even though he's the way he is (but we also love Louis and Marius, and Robin and I like Armand, but you probably won't until The Queen of the Damned [third book of the series]...) But anyway...I'll probably call you later ( ... )

Sorry for being random/spontaneous toukohater June 19 2008, 04:02:25 UTC
This is Aleah's friend, "Robin"/Reem. I'm pretty sure Aleah's mentioned me..? And I was at her birthday party a month ago. I think you should remember me.
Anyway, I know I kind of just appeared out of nowhere, but I couldn't help but see that you think Luminor is scary. xDD Is it his deep voice, or his looks? Or both? I'm a big Yu fan. XD And I'm surprised at how so many people like the song "Love Songs (They Kill Me)". I actually don't like it much. Other songs like "Dysfunctional Family" and "The Silent Place" more.
And, I can't help but ask when you bid on the CD. I had a friend who was apparantly bidding against someone over it on ebay and lost the last second. xD Not that I'm really holding you accountable or anything, I'm just curious to see if it was one big coincidence or not. xD

Anyway, sorry for popping up again.
